Register for event: Please fill out this form to register for the event. You must fill out one form per person attending, including children in the same family. Details: This event is for all ages. We plan to meet at the Larson Ice Skating Center in Brookings, SD at 3:45pm. Cost is $5.00 per participant, OWSD is covering your admission cost and the $5.00 is to cover your skate rental. This skate rental cost is per participant, no matter the age. Children of all ages are welcome, there are helpers on the ice, such as walkers, that are available on a first come first serve. 

Please join us on an ice skating adventure for those of you who have never skated before, helpers will be available as well as assistance from others who have more experience. This time will be spent enjoying each others company while learning to skate. The rink is indoors, but please dress accordingly. Children should wear snowpants, hat, gloves and warm jacket. It is not required, but advised. Concessions are available at your own expense.

MOTHER'S DAY HIKE

Details: We will enjoy this 4.0-mile loop trail near Pierre, South Dakota. Generally
considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 10 min to complete. We encourage
families to join us on a beautiful Saturday afternoon to walk this trail and enjoy nature and family. Please wear adequate foot and clothing attire. You will want to bring water. You may also like walking sticks it is a longer walk for some. If you do not have a state park sticker you may need to purchase a day pass for parking. We look forward to enjoy the beautiful afternoon with you on the trail.

SAUSAGE MAKING 101

Details:  Come spend a few hours with us learning the basics to making your own sausage and rings out of wild game or store bought meats. This introductory class will show you how to prep your meat and what proper equipment is needed to produce the rings and sausages you need for your next delicious meal.

 

This class will take place at the Outdoor Campus East in Sioux Falls, SD. The class starts at 10am and runs till about noon. All materials will be supplied for the class, so you will only need to be present.

ANNUAL CONVENTION

Date: April 21st-23rd, 2023

Time: Arrival time, 10am on Friday, April 21st.

Cost:

Early Bird Adult $300 (registration is received before 3/21/2023) 

- Regular Adult $330 (registration is received after 3/21/2023)

- Youth Price $220 (youth price is good for 15 years and younger)

The Adult membership fee is pro-rated and valid from April 1st, 2023 to December 31st, 2023. 

 

Starting 2024 all memberships will run from January 1st - December 21st and will return to the standard price of $40 for an Adult and $20 for youth (15 years and younger)

Details: Please join us for our Annual Convention at Thunderstik Lodge in Chamberlain, SD. This event is for Adult and age appropriate youth. Some classes do require a certain level of skill or understanding so please make sure your youth are able to participate to their fullest capacity before registering for a specific class. Classes involving guns will require a hunt test certificate for youth under the age of 16. 

This weekend will be full of a wine and canvas event and social hour. Get to know your neighbor the night of arrival and relax before diving into an array of classes that will be offered Saturday and Sunday. 

There will be a live and silent auction at this Convention. Items will be available for bidding and vary in price from $20 on up to hundreds of dollars. These items are 100% donated to our organization from sponsors and local businesses in the area. The proceeds from this auction will go back to our membership and help pay for underprivileged youth or adults that cannot afford to attend our monthly events or new items available for our membership to use.
