POLLINATORS & YOU

Session 1: Saturday, April 22nd 8am - Noon

  • Thunderstik Lodge in Chamberlain SD

Service Description

Learn about Pollinators: This will be a four-part class to learn about pollinators, how to attract them, and what you can do to help monitor the success of your project! Pollinators need plants to thrive, we’ll start there. Learn who’s who, benefits of having them around your garden, and how we can monitor them safely without harm. Learn about native plants and how to use them in your garden. Are there benefits of having a mixed garden of non-natives and native species? Benefits of having insect activity around! What does site preparation look like? Let’s talk about programs. This will help you decide if there’s any state/local/or federal programs that might be able to help you achieve your pollinator goals. There are also several citizen science projects that we will talk about. What’s your current project look like? Where can we help? Make sure you bring pictures and specific problems that you are having in your area!
