Would you like to try Ice Fishing? Here is the opportunity to try it out without the risk of having to get a bunch of startup equipment. Scott Olson (Ice Angler) from Rapid City is teaching the basics of Ice Fishing, from setting up an Ice Shack and drilling holes, baiting hooks and rigging poles, use of Flashers and depth finders and will help clean (if fish are caught). The event will be held February 2, 2019, fishing at a location in the Black Hills area. Please dress accordingly for ice fishing, warm insulated boots for feet protection on the ice, ski pants or insulated coveralls, gloves or mittens. Ice cleats will help with walking on the ice but not mandatory (cleats will not be provided). Best to dress in layers as temperatures may fluctuate throughout the day, ice houses with heaters will also be set up to help stay warm. Simple Lunch will be provided. All fishing Equipment and bait will be provided so you do not need anything except a fishing license. Kristi Heidrich and Betty Weber are hosting this is a family friendly event! Please reach out to us if you have any questions about dress, obtaining fishing license at firstname.lastname@example.org. Cost of event is only the fishing license and $40 membership fee for new members.
When it is closer to the event, directions will be provided as to where to meet, maybe as early as 9am, depending on the final fishing location so we are ready on the ice by 10am. Will try to announce meeting location and fishing spot a minimum of 2 weeks before event, as we continue to see where the fishing is good and weather will permit.
