Hike the Whitney Preserve!
The Whitney Preserve is an incredible piece of land in the Southern Black Hills, just north of the Wild Horse Sanctuary. Outdoor women have been invited to come hike the property which includes sections of Cascade Spring, the largest perennial spring and one of only two warm springs found in the Black Hills. A Conservancy botanist will lead the hike through the Preserve’s extremely rare natural community which holds the Conservancy’s second-highest biodiversity ranking. There should be a variety of wildflowers and cacti for us to enjoy and, for birders, the bird diversity at the Preserve is wonderful!
