Bird Watching in Wessington Springs
Due to the rain, we had a small turnout for the Bird Watching in Wessington Springs event. Kim Burg loaded the 7 participants into her van and took a driving tour of the Wessington Springs sites on the National Register of Historic Places. She thought the rain might slow down so they could go for the hike. It did let up, so they began the hike. Of course another heavy wave of rain and wind came along and we all got pretty wet. We did see 7 turkey buzzards circling at the top of a hill. We had a great time & will organize a hike again this fall.
The Wild Dakota show will be airing the
OWSD pheasant hunt for the second time Sunday, July 10 at 7:30 a.m. on Fox
TV.

Don't Let This Happen to You......a little humor from the webmaster.....
Over at the local lake some folks new to boating were having a
problem. No matter how hard they tried they couldn't get their brand new 22 foot
boat going. It was very sluggish in almost every maneuver no matter how much
power they applied. After about an hour of trying to make it go, they putted
into a nearby marina, thinking someone there may be able to tell them what was
wrong. A thorough topside check revealed everything in perfect working
condition. The engine ran fine, the out-drive went up and down, and the
propeller was the correct size and pitch. So, one of the marina guys jumped in
the water to check underneath. He came up choking on water, he was laughing so
hard. Under the boat, still strapped securely in place, was the trailer!
